Tank in Arise Ragnarok
The mixed frontliner — two skills, real weapons, Vitality, and the class that makes a Healer worth locking.
Tank is the mixed defensive kit in Arise Ragnarok. You are not a pure caster, you are not a stealth Assassin, and you are not a Warrior who only lives on the shop. Pro Game Guides calls it a mixed defensive-oriented class with two skill slots and access to weapons. That hybrid is the whole identity. Solo grind lists put Tank in A. Group play is where the class actually pays rent: you stand in front, you take the hit, and a Healer becomes S-tier instead of a slow solo.
The game has been live on 16-player servers since October 18, 2025. You roll Tank at character creation like the other four kits. Reroll tickets come from shop items and codes, not from typing ELF into the box.
Kit: two skills, plus weapons, plus the front
PGG’s two-slot line is the table we treat as canonical. Community class pages name arts you will see on Tank hotbars:
- Taunt — the grab. Community sheets have listed a Mana cost and a mid-length cooldown. If the live bar has it, you press it when the boss looks at the Mage.
- Ground Break (also labeled Ground Slam on older GIFs) — a shorter cooldown slam.
- Titan Drop and Brutal Rush — later names on community tables, often still marked incomplete.
If your live kit only shows two slots, you are on the PGG description and you should not wait for a fourth Mage-style slot. Weapons still matter. Class-lock still matters. A Warrior blade is not a Tank blade. An Assassin stealth piece is not a defensive sidegrade. Spend dungeon chests on your tag; the dungeon guide and dungeon schedule tell you when the door is actually open.
Stats
Vitality and Strength. Vitality is the HP that lets you do the job. Strength is the damage that keeps a pull from lasting forever, and it is the shadow-scaling stat you share with Warrior and Assassin. Mana exists because Taunt and slams are not free. Intelligence is a trap. Agility is last.
Double jump is not why you rolled Tank. The 50 versus 200+ Agility argument is a mobility nerd fight; park a test stack, then go back to Vitality. Spreads: stats and builds. Binds: controls.
Solo A-tier is honest
You will clear blue quests. You will live through mistakes that kill a Mage who stood still. You will take longer than Assassin and Mage to empty a room because your kit is built to be hit, not to delete. That is A on a solo board, not an insult. If you play alone every night and you hate long rooms, the class picker will push you toward Mage or Assassin — listen to it.
The solo tank trap is building like a Healer (Intelligence) or like a stealth Assassin (Agility first). You become a slow Warrior with worse weapons.
Group play is the reason to stay
On a 16-player dungeon, someone has to face the boss. If nobody does, the Healer burns Mana chasing a Mage who took aggro, and the Assassin dies on a telegraph they never saw because they were inside the model. Tank is the person who walks in first, presses Taunt if they have it, and lets everyone else do their S-tier job.
Pair with Healer on purpose. A Tank without a Healer is still a thick melee. A Healer without a Tank is a solo B-tier kit pretending to be a raid role. Launch lists that put Healer in S assumed you existed. Read Healer if your friends keep dying with nobody in front.
Mage wants you for add waves they should not tank. Warrior wants you so they can swing without holding. Assassin wants you so they can burst without being the health bar.
Shadows and race
Your army scales from Strength. Arise assassin-type shadows anyway — they are the damage line on the shadow tier list, and they feed off the Strength you are already stacking. Press E, Collect with R, extra slot every 90 levels, merge four copies at the Guild Building. Elf-type and dungeon bosses next. Tank-type commons are for when you are actually dying, not for a fashion index. Unconfirmed SS names stay unconfirmed. Button version: shadows guide.
Race is unofficial versus PGG. Community reports: Orc for Strength, Demon for damage, Human if you might reroll, Dwarf if you mine between windows, Elf if you meant to roll Mage. ELF and IGRIS are dungeon chest codes — codes, how to redeem — not a race change.
A Tank window that is actually holding
Arrive at the portal early. Let DPS stack behind you. Taunt the boss, not the entire street. After the window, merge shadows, repair the weapon tag, and ignore off-class loot. Scripts such as auto farm will walk you into hits you were supposed to choose; auto arise is safer because the prompt is the same on every corpse.
Stay Tank if you like being the reason a group lives. Reroll if you never party and the A-tier solo speed bothers you. Check Updates when threat or HP scaling changes. Then compare this hybrid only against Warrior (weapon-first, PGG says no skills) on the Classes Hub — not against Mage’s four empty-handed slots.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers for Arise Ragnarok on Roblox.
Is Tank good for solo Arise Ragnarok?
Playable A-tier. You live longer and clear slower than Assassin or Mage. Lock Tank when you actually group, especially with a Healer.
How many skills does Tank have?
Pro Game Guides says two skill slots plus weapons. Community pages name Taunt, Ground Break, Titan Drop, and Brutal Rush. Use what is on the live bar.
What stats should Tank take?
Vitality and Strength. Mana if you spam Taunt. Skip Intelligence. Agility last after you test double jump claims.
Can Tank wear Warrior weapons?
No. Class-locked loot. Tank weapons only. Off-class pieces waste a slot even if the damage number looks higher.
Do I need a Healer if I play Tank?
You can solo without one. The class becomes the group pick when a Healer is present. That pairing is why launch lists boosted support.
