Merging in Arise Ragnarok

Weapon, Armor, and Shadow Merge NPCs, four identical copies, M10 / M30 caps, and why storage passes are a weak buy.

Merging

Merging is how Arise Ragnarok turns duplicate junk into a real hunter. Quests pay EXP. Dungeons pay chests. The three NPCs on the Guild Building’s upper floor — Weapon Merge, Armor Merge, Shadow Merge — eat four identical copies and spit out a stronger piece. The game has been live since October 18, 2025 on 16-player servers. This is not Arise Crossover’s six-box rank ladder.

If your bag is full of one-off staffs, you are not ready. Farm copies, then ride the elevator.

The three NPCs

The Guild is the tall CLGAMES high-rise with Infernal Castle outside. Elevator up. Talk to the labeled NPC for the item type you actually want to upgrade. PGG: collect duplicates, talk to Weapon Merge, Armor Merge, or Shadow Merge, pick the piece to level, pick the copies, pay the coin fee, confirm. Hover the result slot before you pay. BloxInformer documents the same Armor Merge floor.

Coins come from mining crystals (1:1) and Stone Essence (2 coins). Quest turn-ins do not fund merges.

Four identical copies, best stat first

Fan rule, repeated across beginner videos: you need four identical items of the same rank. An A-rank dagger plus three B-rank copies will not fuse. Same name, same letter (or the rarity pip that replaced that letter after Hunters + QoL).

Pick the copy with the best stat first. That stat transfers. BloxInformer notes there is no shadow stat reroll yet, so feeding a weak main into three strong copies is how people brick a line. The same slot-one habit applies to weapons and armor. Hover before you click.

You can keep pushing a marked piece with unmarked copies if the NPC accepts them — fan videos show non-marked weapons feeding an M-line when you have the coins.

What each merge actually adds

Nerdschalk, matching the merge video circuit:

  • Weapon merge adds Strength and Intelligence. Physical kits and casters both feel the swing. Weapons are class-locked; merging a Mage staff does nothing for an Assassin.
  • Armor merge adds health and defense. This is how you stop dying in Subway and on the rank-up statue.
  • Shadow merge increases damage. The army is the real DPS; see shadows.

Fan chat puts a practical ceiling around M10 for weapons (damage stops climbing in a way you can feel) and around M30 for shadows. Those caps are community observations, not a PGG table. If the NPC still accepts copies past those numbers, believe the NPC. Some players have merged shadows past M30 and reported the sheet barely moving.

Coin cost and inventory

Merges cost coins. Fan reports put shadow merges around 100 coins each. Weapon and armor fees also come out of the same wallet; PGG shows the price on the confirm button. Mine before the boss, sell at the Guild Store (30-minute refresh), then merge. Do not buy Guild Store weapons solely as food unless the math is cheaper than another dungeon window.

Storage gamepasses look tempting when the bag is screaming. They are a weak buy because merging is the inventory printer: four copies become one stronger item and three slots come back. Extra Shadow (399) is an equip slot, not a stash. Small / Large Storage does not raise damage. Spend Robux on 2x Exp or Auto Arise first.

Stars after Hunters + QoL

After the Hunters + QoL pass, fan recaps say weapons (and some item UIs) moved from old letter ranks to a star-based upgrade display. Treat that as fan-reported from the QoL pass, not a PGG merge table. The three NPCs still exist. Four copies still matter. Slot one still matters. If your live UI shows stars instead of M10, you are on the patched label; the elevator trip did not disappear.

Rarity pips on shadows and gear in that same pass are a relabel, not a wipe. Do not fuse a labeled piece you meant to keep because the icon changed color.

A merge session that respects the clock

Redeem codes if a chest code is live. Hit the next :00 / :30 dungeon. Arise assassin-type bodies you still need as food; Collect trash for essence. Mine crystals. Kill the boss last. Elevator, sell, merge four copies with the best stat in slot one. Spend leftover coins on class-tagged Store gear, not off-class junk.

Then allocate the STR / INT the weapon just added using stats and builds. A merged dagger does not fix a Mage INT dump. When the bag is thin again, you are playing the game correctly.
