Arise Ragnarok Quests

Colored NPC markers, 1,000 / 3,000 / 5,000 EXP, portals, and how quests sit next to dungeon windows.

Quests

Quests are how Arise Ragnarok gates the overworld. You walk the city, find NPCs with colored triangles over their heads, accept a job, and step through a portal the job creates. Pro Game Guides is blunt: progression is locked to these NPC quests. Dungeons are the timed spike; quests are the minutes between :00 and :30.

The game is live (October 18, 2025, 16-player servers). This is not an Arise Crossover mission board. If a guide talks about Grass Village slimes, you are on the wrong title.

How to take a quest

Look for the marker, not the NPC name. Colors are the difficulty and the paycheck. Interact, read the prompt, accept or reject. On accept, a matching icon appears and leads you to the quest location. That location is usually a portal, not a street brawl in the middle of spawn. Enter, finish the objective, get out, turn in if the NPC still wants a handshake.

You can reject. Rejecting a red marker when you have two shadows and no VIT is correct play. Another NPC will wander by. Walking a loop beats camping one corner for a perfect color.

PGG also notes procedural scaling: enemies on these jobs grow as you do. A blue at level 80 is not the dummy pack from level 8. If an “easy” portal suddenly hurts, check stats and builds and shadows before you assume the color UI is lying.

The three colors (PGG numbers)

Blue — Epic, easy — 1,000 EXP. This is the beginner engine. Chain blues until movement, dash, and Arise are automatic. They exist to feed stat points and to teach portals. Fan blogs that print ~1,500 EXP for blue or that rename them “white” are not PGG. We use 1,000.

Yellow — Legendary, normal — 3,000 EXP. Triple a blue on paper. They take longer and hit harder. Take yellows when you have a class-locked weapon, a couple of equipped shadows, and enough MNA to finish the room without standing empty. If a yellow costs you a dungeon window, it was the wrong yellow.

Red — Mythic, hard — 5,000 EXP. Rare. Same EXP as a PGG dungeon location-table clear, in a one-off portal, with a higher chance to waste the run. Skip reds that one-shot you. Accept reds when your assassin-type shadows are merged enough that the room is a farm, not a boss check.

PGG’s advice for new hunters is explicit: go after as many blues as you can. Raise shadows. Then move into yellow and red. That order still holds after you know controls. There is no secret rainbow quest that replaces Igris keys.

Purple hunter quests (fan-reported)

Hunters + QoL recaps add a purple marker above red. Creators say it pays more EXP than the colored loop and spawns rarely. This wiki still treats purple as fan-reported until CLGAMES writes it on the Roblox page. If you see purple and you can survive the pack, take it. If you cannot see the floor, walk away the same way you walk away from a bad red. Do not reroll your class because a thumbnail promised a hunter arise. Details of the patch sit on Hunters + QoL.

Quests versus dungeons versus AFK

A public dungeon portal at :00 or :30 is worth dropping a blue mid-walk. The gate lasts about 15 minutes and may not be Goblin Cave next time. Finish the dungeon (mine first), sell at the Guild, then pick the quest back up if the NPC still exists.

Quest EXP is reliable. Dungeon EXP has a PGG conflict (5,000 on the location table, 30,000 mentioned in the beginner article). Quest colors do not have that conflict. If you need a predictable level for a shadow slot (every 90 levels) or for the rank test (PGG 1,000; fan 1,050), blues and yellows are the honest grind.

Do not AFK in spawn waiting for a red. A loop of blues with Arise on assassin-type corpses outpaces a 20-minute red camp. Scripts that auto-accept quests exist and risk the account.

What quests do not give you

Coins. PGG: quests and dungeon clears do not hand you spendable money the way essence and crystals do. You still need R Collect on trash mobs and mining inside dungeon rooms to feed the Guild Store. A hunter who only turns in yellows and never Collects will stall on merge fees. Pair this page with Mining.

Class-locked endgame weapons. Chests from dungeons and the Guild Store are the gear line. Quest rooms can still drop arise targets — treat a quest portal like a mini-dungeon for shadows, then go back to the timed gates for chests.

Rank stars. The Rank Test is a machine in the Guild Building after the level breakpoint, not a red quest named “become S.”

Practical loop for a session

Redeem codes if you have not since the last patch. Walk a city circuit: accept blues, reject reds you cannot see the floor of. Arise first, Collect later, until the shadow roster has assassin-type merge food. When the dungeon banner fires, drop the circuit — Goblin Cave if you are new, Infernal Castle if the clock is tight. After the gate dies, sell, merge four copies, spend stat points, resume yellows if blues feel empty. Near a slot unlock (90 / 180 / …) or the rank machine, prefer fast blues over a slow red.

Party play: do not kick a stranger’s dungeon run to finish a yellow. On a 16-player shard the polite split is quests in the streets, dungeons at the gates.

Healer and Tank players will spend longer in yellows; that is fine if the party needed you. A 3,000 EXP yellow you finish beats a 5,000 EXP red you wipe.

When the markers blur together, you have learned the system. The next bottleneck is dungeon keys, merge caps, and stats — open Dungeons or Stats and Builds.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers for Arise Ragnarok on Roblox.

What do the quest marker colors mean?

PGG: blue is easy for 1,000 EXP, yellow is normal for 3,000 EXP, red is hard and rare for 5,000 EXP. The color is on the NPC and on the icon that leads you to the portal.

Should beginners only do blue quests?

Yes, until you have shadows and a real weapon. Then mix in yellows. Skip reds that one-shot you. See Getting Started for the first-session version.

Do quests pay coins?

No. PGG says quests and dungeon clears are not the coin source. Sell Stone Essence (2 coins) and Mana Crystals (1 coin) at the Guild Store. Mining covers crystals.

Should I drop a quest when a dungeon spawns?

Usually yes. Public portals last about 15 minutes and beat another blue. Finish dungeons (mine first), then return to the NPC loop.

Why did an easy blue suddenly feel hard?

PGG describes procedural scaling: enemies grow as you do. Update your army and stats, and do not confuse another player’s leftover elite with a blue portal.
